Our Working and Discernment Group (previously the Steering Group) has met and worked together to bring energy and life to Living Spirituality Connections since 2012. The focus and purpose of LSC has become clearer as a result of this process and we now feel more established. We now see that a key need we are responding to is to connect people with another and with diverse resources, and want to communicate that aim in our name. We have adopted a new logo to reflect the connections theme.
Future direction
Events: We run an annual Living Spirituality Connections event in London in partnership with St James’s Piccadilly, as well as other events in partnership with other centres. We run Zoom courses, such as Deep Abiding Prayer, the Artist’s Rule, and Earth our Original Monastery.
We send online lists of relevant events run by different centres and organisations across the country four times a year.
E-Newsletters: We will send e-newsletters covering our key themes twice a year.
Three key themes:
- the creative spirit
- the flourishing of the earth and all life
- spiritual journeying: active and contemplative spiritual practices and new ways to meet together to share our spiritual journeys
Special Interest Areas: people can register interest in Special Interest Areas, and may receive occasional emails about events or developments related to these. Currently these are: Arts and Spirituality; Music and Spirituality; Spiritual Journeying; and Towards Human Flourishing.
Regional Contacts: We will continue to provide a list of Regional Contacts to enable people to connect with others in their area if they wish to. We welcome new contacts for South & West Wales and North West Wales with this newsletter.
Collaborative work: It is important to us to collaborate with other organisations with a similar vision, and run events jointly with organisations such as Spirit of Peace, The Abbey of the Arts, St Bede’s Pastoral Centre (York), and St James’s Piccadilly. We also have many linked organisations – see www.livingspirit.org.uk/resources-and-links/links-to-other-organisations.
We are not set up as a separate organisation. We are thankful that St James’s Church, Piccadilly has agreed to handle our finances and is enabling us to publicise Living Spirituality Connections on a noticeboard which is seen by a large number of visitors every week.
